AA Touring Tips:
General Info for driving through Germany:
Driving License: minimum age at which a UK license holder can drive a temporarily imported car is 17
Fines: on the spot. Motorists can be fined for such things as exceeding speed limits, using abusive language, making derogatory signs, and running out of petrol on the motorway.
Fuel: unleaded is available. You are permitted to carry petrol in cans, but is prohibited aborad ferries.
Lights: dipped headlights are required during the day if fog, snow or rain restrict visibility. Driving with side lights alone is not allowed.
Motor insurance: third-party insurance is compulsory.
Passengers/children in cars: Children under 12 or under 1.5m in height cannot travel as a front or rear seat passenger unless using suitable restraint system where this is fitted. BUCKLE UP!!
Seats belts: all occupants must wear seat belts where these are fitted. BUCKLE UP!!
Speed Limits: standard speed limits for private vehicles without trailers:
Built-up areas - 31mph ( 50km/h)
Outside built-up areas including dual carriage ways – 62 mph (100km/h)
Motorways max is 80mph (130km/h)
Motorways minimum is 37 mph ( 60km/h)

Also think about travel insurance and European break-down coverage, but as my mother-in-law pointed out that some insurance will not be valid in Germany due to the cars age so please check with your insurance provider.

think we shall be careing extra fuel then.....
You HAVE TO BE 18 DO DRIVE IN THESES COUNRTYS
so if your not 18 dont list your self

It is also illegal to flash other cars on the motorway to tell them to get out the way.
