sounds stupid, but i have awlful hubcaps on my mini and lovely black wheels underneath, but i cant get the things off! after nearly snapping one with the screwdriver, i figured it was best to leave it, as i want them be intact still! any easier way of getting them off?

also while im here.. whenever theres a sudden movement by the car, ie/ accelerating sharply after changing gear etc, there seems to be a metal clanging sound coming from underneath the car? sounds like something is loose and is knocking around or something.

cheers, mike

If its the plastic type hubcap fitted to 12" wheels then it'll be held on by the wheel nuts, so you need to remove them to take the cover off. Make sure the car is supported securely before you do this.

If its a 10" wheel with a plastic hubcap the same applies.

im pretty sure its nothing in the engine bay, it seems to be coming from under the car, my initial guess was something to do with the handbrake mechanism but im not too sure

best is to take them to someone that does puncture and ask him to remove them. also tell him not to break them as they are not yours
