Mini is finally getting somewhere. I am doing a website for a garage that are going to do me a full respray (inside and out, bare-shell). After seeing the Huddersfield Mini Spares 'Busa engined mini I have decided to go for silver with a black roof. Bought myself so many bits now that it's scarey. So far the spec is:
1340 engine (needing a rebuild methinks, at least a strip-down and check-over),
276 Kent camshaft,
Duplex timing gear,
Central oil pick up (metro turbo 'box),
High cap oil pump,
Stage 3 head, (with luverly 1.5:1 roller rockers and double springs)
Twin SU's (really want to ditch em for a nice Weber 40 DCOE),
4 core rad,
7"x 13" Superlites under group 2 arches,
Metro 4 pots,
Avo's all round, Hi-Lo's and neg. camber all round and adj. tie bars on front,
Minifins at the arse end,
Poly bushes every where that is sensible,
Maniflow LCB with a 2" Scorpion stainless system,
Alloy fuel tank instead of spare wheel (soon, someone at work's makin it),
Cobra classic buckets, charcoal 3-clock dash with magnolia dials,
MKI grill, halogen headlamps and clear rear lenses (might put 'em back to std.)

That's about it so far, lots more stuff is on the Christmas list!

Sorry if I've bored everyone with the spec.
P.S. All I've gotta do now is fit it to the car.

EDIT: Spec has changed sooo much now! Have a read through  :P

Yeah, I got the Avo's off a guy who I found on the Mini Mania forum, he'd bought them and abandoned his project. I think I paid just over 100 quid for the full set. ad to see someone giving up on a project, but still got a bargain!

I have put this pic of the front end (with the grille and halogen lights trial-fitted) in the introductions part of the forum, but here it is again!

Looking a bit sad at the moment, but I can't wait to send her off to the body shop so I can start having some fun with the engine build. Things can only get better as they say!

What do people think of going from twin 1 1/4" SU's to a single Weber? I know that the twins are a little small for the power output I'm hoping for (around 90-100 BHP would be nice if possible) but they shouldjust about cope with the right needles right? They came off my old cabrio that was a 998 with a stage 2 kit on it. I just need to decide before the bodywork begins, in case I need to cut a section out of the bulk head for a weber box.

You'll be struggling with the twin 1 1/4's, while your deciding on webbers or not ( hope you modify the bulkhead in preparation ) but an HIF44 on, you'll find it a lot better suited to the requirements of the 1340.

Yeah? I was wondering about a HIF44, I guess that would be a cheaper option too.

Or a pair of HIF38's, which should fit the manifold you have now with a little fettling depending on which one it is. As Guessworks said, remember you'll need the bulkhead box for a Weber. Personally I don't like Weber's, the HIF (or KIF if you can get one) is a much more advanced design and they produce similar results but are much more fuel efficient.

Budget dependant, I'd like to see it finished by March '05 (fingers crossed tightly), would love to go to the Nurburgring, saw it on Top Gear the other night, looked so good. Do you have any idea of costs? I guess it'd be a camping trip?

Just sorted me new dash board out, I've swapped my dials for a magnolia set (they were green). The dashboard was from Minisport, thought it looked like a good quality one til I got it home. The main problem is that the gauges really don't fit into the cut-outs in the dash panel. I'm not too happy with the fit, although it does look fine really. Just that the dial covers don't sit in the cut-outs, they kind of rest on the lip of them. Oh well, I won't buy another dash from them!

End result looks OK, and I've sat them next to my Cobra classic bucket seats to see how well they match. I think they look perfick (after that bit of fettlin').

Have a butchers at 'em.
