do you achive 1340 from a crank re grind?

Dunno much about it either, but Bill Richard's Racing and Swiftune have told me exactly the same thing.
Everyone calls em 1340's though, it's just one of those things.

Morspeed will sort you out for £500 mate. They do a 286 equivalent too, I think.

Good choice with the HIF44 though. Best for engine of your spec. PLus points are that it's cheap, still an SU so is easy to set up and will still give you brilliant fuel economy....
...Oh yeah and it'll suck like a beauty!

Cheers for that link, those kits look very feasible, and only a few quid over budget. I might drop them a mail. This is the guy who used to work for MED yeah?

Good to see that there is life after working for a bigger company.

Dear santa, for christmas I would like.......................

The fuel consumption on my 1380 is worse than our Mercedes C200 or the Porsche 944 (((((((((((

There is no such thing as a 1340 its a 1330.

It shouldn't be on a HIF must need another trip to the rollers. Unless you got a weber 45 in which case you need a fuel regulator to avoid over-fueling

If I go for the 1380 kit then, what sort of fuelling would be recommended, I'm guessing the HIF44 would cope well, bearing in mind my 1.5:1 roller rockers and my 276 cam (which I am now thinking of changing for a sw10). I want fast road, so I am sure this package would deliver it. Am I best talking to Morspeed? To see what carb/needle camshaft they recommend.

It is on a Hif and has been set up on the rollers, BUT you don't get performance and fuel economy with a small engine.

I am not too concerned about fuel consumption,as long as it is more than 10 mpg, I guarantee that it will get more to the gallon than my Pug 205 does, so that'll be a Brucey Bonus anyway.

I am looking into buying a HIF44 now though, definitely going to sell the twin 1 1/4"s.

automotive engineering at sheffield hallam. had 4 hours a few weeks ago to strip a couple of 998s and an 850, was the most fun lesson iv had in ages. then the week after i managed to kill my bearings in my 1275 via lack of oil pressure so iv now got a central oil pick up. the block needed so much work that im just going to get a kit form morspeed. im getitng an oil cooler and sumpguard too. thinking about a cross pin diff when my next student loan comes though
