hi i know there have been lots of questions on this subject and i have read most of them.so just to clear something up .if i remove the verto clutch and fly wheel from my 1275 will the standard 998 clutch fit and work? with the housing and starter thanks.

depends what type of clutch it is.

is the "standard 998 clutch" verto or pre-verto?

it is a standard 998 clutch pre verto

if you fit a pre verto clutch & flywheel to the 1275 engine, you will be able to use the original starter and clutch slave cylinder yes.

I asked the same kinda question a week or two back.

All the answers I got were different, not that Im turning my nose up at the help!

But in the end, I used a verto clutch in a verto engine.. and I used the non verto transfer case end with non verto arm (and verto bearing) and it works fine. I think I did have to use a verto shaft that pushes the release bearing.

Very confusing to understand, but thats how it worked for me.
