I had a Volvo 850 T5 Auto as my last car, same thing happend on that, driving along one day, lost all power, engine revving away and the car barely moving.
Turns out the Transmission fluid was passed it. Did a fluid flush, ran the car for a few days, then topped up/flushed some the remainder of the old stuff out and the problem was sorted.
Might be something as simple as using the correct transmisison fluid, (that is if the mini auto's use seperate transmission fluid and engine oil (like my volvo) or shared engine/transmission oil like in the manual 'boxes
HELP ASAP!! Auto box failure :(

well the past two times i have removed the tourque convertor i used a mini flywheel puller 3 wheen nuts and 3 of the bolts that hold the engine mounting bracket onto the gearbox, and has worked np

well ive done a flush and filled er with new oil, so ill try it tomorrow and see how we go if there is ne change. .
