Yea as others have said its completely adjustable, otherwise it will only work with a very few amounts of bikes... So all i have to do is use the button on the back and adjust the wheel size setting then it will work.

It depends if you can key in wheel size, most have presets for different size bike wheels. If you mount it on the potjoint that would equate to a 3" bicycle wheel lol.

alot of them you can manually adjust by recording one wheel rotation it takes alittle longer but you should still be able to do it...

Im not sure to be honest but all the ones that i looked at halfords, you had to work out the circumference of the wheel then enter in a certain number, it explains it all with the instruction you get with the gauge.

Well i spent an hour trying to find the magnet, but i couldnt find the dam thing :dozing:, so looks like ill have to go and buy another gauge just for the magnet lol.

Attached File  speedo1.JPG   87.49K   70 downloadsAttached File  13sep_005.jpg   829.88K   73 downloadsI did a simlar thing on my car (mini engined sprint car).
Bought a bike speedo that reads to over 100mph (they don't all go that high) and put it into a 52mm pod and made a cover so that you can only see the readout.
Also most don't have a backlight so I put a couple of LED's in which seems to work well.
I got one with quite large numbers so it is easy to read.
The only thing is that it is not powered off 12v, so sometime the battery will run out and I will loose the ODO reading. However the battery is quite big and should last a few years.
Here are a few of pics (they are a bit big)

Why not try a fridge magnet or similar before buying another. Sure you can botch one up in a drill to test if it'll work?

Someone mentioned the size of a pot joint - of course it's the tyre circumference you need. I bet if you popped into Maplins or similar they might have a solution to the voltage issue.

well I'm goint to have a clean out in the shed tomurow to try and fing the magnet. but if not ill try different things first.

yes, when mounting it on the pot joint I will wort with the tyre circumstance.

I did look in to running the speedo of the mini battery, however the power isn't constant, so I would have to fit a stableiser of somesort and to be honest I can't be bothered lol

Nice mod fella, just the thing I'm gonna do. I've got my eye on an Acewell 3250 but it's £88!! £6 and an old Smith's pod is perfect! As I've got a Smart car, I'll use one of the dash pods from that. does need to be back lit for the MOT/SVA test.

Ive been after doing a digi speedo for mine for ages so this is a good linkie to see wots available, that vamx jobbie looks nice and cheap compared to what ive seen so far. Ive been looking at some universal speedos for Super Motos and saw a nice one at the NEC show over the weekend but it was £170 with trade discount
