Well my passenger door is secure - though thats because the lock is broken and it wont lock or unlock from the outside! But seriously considering getting some sort of alarm/immobiliser fitted. What sort of thing should I be looking for? I want something fairly cheap (student so lack of money!) but that is obviously gonna do the job. What can people recommend?

See, that's what I said. The guys with the keys are always there at shows.

And changing to central locking only with no external locks is fine, until the battery goes flat.

We'll all just have to hope that there is honour amongst Mini owners then, but I'll still be using a steering wheel crook lock anyway.

The inner latch has probably become disconnected and it's an easy fix once the door trim panel is removed.

Yeah it happened before on the driver's side - which meant that I had to clamber in from the passenger side everyone time I wanted to go somewhere! The door cards will be coming off soon to be recovered so I'll get it fixed then (and just hope the drivers side doesn't break again in the mean time - well if it did at least the car would be secure!)
