You could either fit an original Mini Cooper/Mini 1000 type oval surround with the water temp and oil pressure gauges each side or how about a Riley Elf type walnut dash instead?

my "shelf" in my 25 is a bit of cardboard with a thin layer of material over it ;)

I think anything you do would be an improvement! :D

I've been thinking about a dash for my 1000 - and it's got centre dials... I'm not sure on the old style dashes though - with the curved wood and the 2 "glove compartments" ... would be interesting to see what you come up with :D

This is the current state of my dash plus I have also stripped off the padding from the bottom rail.

My plan is to create a shelf out of MDF, and a backing panel to fit against the firewall and behind the hoover pipes. Once I've decided on interior colour and style I'll cover the shelf and backing in the appropriate material.
Thinking Zebra fur at the moment but not sure....

If it was up to me then I'd fit the oval dash like on Ru55boy's Mini 1000 and fit Newton Commercial coloured dash liner material. Something nice and bright and cheery like a vibrant red perhaps and then fit red door cards, rear companion box cards & liners and a red carpet too.

Or any colour combination you fancy, but it wouldn't cost a fortune, would be a pretty simple fix and will look stunning and different too.

Oh and I have a Mini 1000 type oval dash surround with the temperature and oil pressure gauges, so make me an offer if you're interested. :D
