Ecu turned up! Just finish my cuppa and breakfast and see what happens.

Right Ecu made no noticable difference, but may do when the follwing was sorted out, so went back to basics

Got fuel, each injector was being told to fire by the ecu

checked spark again and had a spark but decided to check all plugs/leads and found that one half of the coil pack wasn't firing (wasted spark system 2 plugs fire at the same time but one will be on the exhaust stoke one on compression) anyway checked if it was the coil by going and buying another one but in the meantime Simon at SC text me to check the crank sensor spacing from the trigger wheel

Found the sensor had been bent slightly to far away from the trigger wheel during either removal or refitting of the engine

Rebent it to shape closer to the trigger wheel

Turned key and one hell of a back fire, so much so that it shot the bits of exhaust paste that end up on the inside when assembling the exhaust out the back :), so I'm part way there, in that it wants to fire, but then the battery went flat so I'm currently waiting for it to charge up before trying again :bah:

Dont think I'm going to find an MOT slot now though :)

Not yet left the battery to charge overnight last night so will try again tonight.

A couple of minor coolant leaks and the alternator light to sort but I'm well happy!

As now not in a rush for a deadline, i'm going to sort out a few minor things like alternator charge light, coolant leaks and check the clutch. Was a mechanical push rod before now back to hydraulic so think the stops just need checking

Will give you a shout when MOT'd Jim and I'll come and pick you up :D

Don't get what you mean mini93?

Mapping etc was all sorted by John before I picked it up, he just (or Simon did) loaded the mapping onto a new ECU which was included in the package I don't need to touch it

thats what i was checking, knew you said it was mapped before, but wasnt sure if you had changed anything at all meaning mapping might need fettling slightly
(would have helped if i worded stuff correctly lol)
