Hi all,
Had the problem with reverse lights not working. Checked the wiring and then climbed under the car
and tried take the reverse light switch off to check the condition ... result was that I broke the thing and
have no reverse light what so ever. Will manage without them until the next MOT next autumn but
really should get them working as it's a bit dodgy when backing and no one sees your lights.
Any ideas??

We got a new switch from a mini show, I think from minimine, it was about £7.

can you still get the switch out ?
a quick way around this would be to fit a lit switch on the dash some where and manually turn the lights on

Reversing lights are for you to see by, not for people to see you coming. You shouldn't be reversing if there's anyone driving or walking around who you'd get in the way of. You never have the right of way in reverse. And as above they are not a required lamp, but an optional one which is never inspected or tested. If you choose to fit a dash switch in place of the automatic switch though you must fit a telltale on the dash to light up when the lamps are switched on.
