yeah the more things that are needed to line up makes it even more limited to which head could theoreticly fit, want as few things as possible and of course easy things to correct if possible like head studs, these can be drilled and retapped depending where situated

Mic, you are right in principle. If you did find another head that fits on a mini with a little machine work, then yes, it would be good. However, like everybody is saying, there arent any other heads that will fit, because of the mini's weird design characteristics.

appreciate what you say but on the other hand, unless someone has actually tried to see if ANY other heads of all the models of cars then there may be a chance!

or maybe i should give it up and stick to normal. which is a cop-out because i was really into this.

lol

mic is right, but who has the time and resource to actually go and check every head that has a rough measurement of the block?

it would be wonderful to find something from a ford/toyota etc that would be a close fit with just a few bolts and oil/waterways needing to be changed, but the a-series block is what? 55 yrs old in various forms, so am sure lots of heads have been checked and tried.

i am amazed that someone thought the BMW K Head would fit and tried that, and look at the Mini scene now, with it becomeing a mainstay cyclinder head!
