Float chambers are removable if the mounting angle is an issue - but an SU equipped car doesn't conk out when it's going up or down a steep hill does it

I have just purchased a set of twin HS2 SU's for my Mk1 Cooper, but to keep them for spare parts etc. They have been totally rebuilt and like new, all for £110!!!. That includes the manifold, to fit a mini A-Series engine. I got these here in the USA before my return home next month.
The carbs themselved however are from an MG Midget. If you check the Burlen on their website, you will fine the only differences (apart from the manifold) are the piston springs, needles, and possibly the dampers. I compared part numbers from the AUD104 (Mini cooper Carb) and the MG midget one.
Tha basic HS2 carb used for Mini cooper, and 1275, MG Midget, and Sprite is the same except for those items. This is not to say an MG Midget carb needle can't be used in a mini, but of course to get the most out of your carbs for your car you need those items to be of the correct part numbers. Needles obviously are tapered differently which effects the fuel delivery in the carb at all engine speeds and loads.
