To remove the split pin holding in the clevis pin can be a pain!! I kinow, but I found that having long nosed pliers helps a lot. After opening and straightening the split pin, I used the pliers to break off as much of it as I could/

After checking the clevis oin itself for wear, I then used an R-Clip (that is used to hold the body on to R/C cars), the clevis pin in place. This will be much easier to remove in the future!

Just out of curiosity, would a bit of garden wire wrapped around and through the hole of the clevis pin do the job?
