I looked everywhere for a second hand drivers door and look what they did to the doors on that Mini!? Bastards. I got one off Thiefbay for £58 and they looked better!

What gets me is he said its still got a decent sound system in it.. and yeah it looked brilliant condition and they f'ed it about.. not impressed i'd of had it..

The trouble is compared with the financial budget needed to make a TV series like that, the cost of even what looked a nice old Mini is relatively peanuts to them.
p.s. James May has said on Top Gear and in car magazines that he is a classic Mini fan if its any consolation.

who said it had no engine? If you looked at the centre of gravity where they tied the straps, it was a long way forward, by the A-pillars, I'd have guessed it did have an engine in. and wouldn't crack the sump as it didn't contact, the suspension hit the bump stops first, and the flex of the glass would move the part under the sump away from the car as it 'should' bend almost uniformly.
I think they should have dropped the car nose first!
