Go for it with yours, Mr James. I knew if I didn't get her done, the interior would have been trashed over the winter & she would have needed loadsa whole panels & new doors.

I'd love to get it done, but I have the transport issue too! I'm looking around at new-ish Polos and the like but the purchase and insurance of one basically eats the Mini-fixing budget. As I work at all different venues, to be without a car for a month or so just isn't an option. Like you say, it's a catch 22 really as the longer I leave the Mini, the more it will cost to fix. Given her gearbox has just gone tits up, thats another chunk out the fund to sort that!

Wow, that's a lot of surgery there but it'll well worth it! I just had the floor sills and inner arches done on my Mpi, so my feet don't get wet when it rains now! I'd love to attack the front end like you have as it's a bit tatty (and the scuttle, well we don't talk about that ). The last batch of repair work darn near bankrupted me though so it'll have to wait. At least it's solid for winter and *should* pass its MOT...

Do I take it you're just respraying the repaired bits (ie. most of it!) or are you going for a full respray? If so, is she staying black?

The problem is, when you start prodding one bit (which inevitable falls off) you find another. And another. And another. I didn't honestly expect the boys to find so much & for her to be so nakey.

They're leaving the back panel/boot & the roof (Roofless's excellent decal stays), but the rest of her is going to be lovely fresh anthracite again.

Only after that, do we start thinking about the MOT, which is due. Like you, paul_s with yours, I am assuming she's gonna pass.....
