yay someone agreed about the dashpot :-

other little things like a nice clean thermostat housing and alternator can make a big difference too

Stealth - did you paint the engine in the car or did you hoist it out? I notice that your alternator and clutch huosing look VERY clean - did you paint those silver or did you steam-clean them or something first?

I want to paint my block very badly, but I don't have a hoist or know anyone that has one, nor do I know how to disconnect the engine from the axles and such, so I think I'll have to paint it in situ.

Hey, Lukey - just a bit OT but how did you get multiple wire leads on your replacement 4-fuse panel like that? I really want to replace the old-style glass fuses with proper ATC ones with a splash cover like you did, but the OEM fuse box looks to have *2* flat clips per fuse on each side and all the ATC boxes I've seen only has one per side. Does the replacement ATC box in your photo really have 2 leads per side and I'm not seeing it, or are they spliced somehow?

Thanks!

Would you mind terribly pulling off one or two of the female clips (the ones on the wires) and see if there are just a a pair of male terminals for each fuse, or multiple pairs? If there's just a pair they must be spliced somehow, or they used some sort of multi-prong adapter or something - all of the aftermarket ones I've seen (like yours) have but a single male terminal per side of the fuse and the OEM box has 2 per side (and needs them). I only need to know for the one mounted against the firewall, not the secondary one above the Union Jack badge - that's some sort of accessory fusebox it looks like

Cheers and thanks!
