Joe likes me as his Mini Mum. I sent him to Doctor Bob to make him all lovely again !!!! Also I won't let a certain red Mini be horrible to him !

You'll have to tell him that he needs to be patient ! They all want to be lovely, but they have no concept of money, do they ? Each one of mine have spent a faor amount of time being really tatty. Joe was painted in thick horrible green paint and his white roof was hand painted. There were brush hairs in it and bits of gravel in his roof gutter had been painted white. In order to get out of him, I used to have to lift up the driver's door. Oh and it was rotted out so things were pretty draughty and I could see the road when I was driving along !!!! Humphrey was an absolute shed with a bent MOT. His carpet was glued down onto a non existent floor and his backsubframe was not too secure, let's say ! It's lovely when they can have their day again, I must say. It does take time though.

Alresford - ooh, you're near me. By the way, Alfie was in Mini World several years ago and the pics were done outside the antiques shop in the main street. I love steam, but have not been on the railway yet. Must come back and do it.

Ohhh, thats a lot worse than Eric.
He has really badly done cooper stripes front and rear, and badly done checks on the roof. Rust in all the normal places (including about 3 places in the gutter, one of the side windows is rusting badly. So far hes had the folowing done- Ball joint, and new calipers, a new set of tyres, a new exhaust, dizzy cap, points, rotor arm and the vacuum advance pipe went the otherrday, causing really bad running, but hes ok now, however, he is in desperate need of a tune up (in time, when i can afford it, after all the other stuff....)

Yeah, the railways at the bottom of my garden, I volonteer up there (when im not working on the car...) give us a shout, i might be able to get you a free ride..., only might though. where are you then?

The side windows always go really bad if you don't catch the rust early enough. You can end up with big holes there and then you have the dilemma about welding and risking heat distortion, or using fibreglass, which is cobbing it really. Oh the joys of Mini ownership. It's the connectors that go on the vacuum advance isn't it . When I set off for the Norfolk IMM I noticed one of mine had broken, so I did a temporary fix with superglue and black tape ! I am Basingstoke, so I am just up the road really. It sounds like you've shelled out quite a bit lately for Eric. You obviously are a very caring Mini owner !

It's a great drive out. The Candovers are lovely. I have managed to do those window bits on mine before the holes appeared- got lucky, I guess.

The weather will be good on Saturday, if you are working outside. Sunday it'll rain. On Sunday I am off to a classic car show at Bordon, in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
