I saw a minivan which looks lovely on eBay, classified ad for £1900

No mention of MOT or tax though So I sent them a message....

The car has no problems...
The selling price for the car is so low because I need some cash asap due to some personal problems!
You can buy the car for the price of £1900 . For this price I will also include free delivery of the car anywhere in the UK. You will also have access to a refund policy on this transaction. However, before any delivery can be done we have to start the transaction on ebay so we can be both protected. In order to start the transaction on the eBay system I need to receive some details from you:
- your full name and address (for your invoice + delivery purposes)...
As soon as the above details will be provided I'll start the official transaction on eBay and they will notify you about this. You'll also receive important guidelines + instructions from them ( please go through them exactly ).

They don't let you see the car, they make you pay up front then they supposedly deliver your car. Except they dont

Ebay scam in the news recently and on TV "Watchdog "where the buyer sent his brother to pick up and pay for an Audi. When his brother got there with the cash he was asked to follow the seller to a lock up garage where it was supposed to be. Two more guys also appeared demanded the money, beat hell out of him and left him for dead with no car of course. He has survived but has permanent injuries as a result..............don't think they ever caught them.

I saw something about this on the TV. You think to yourself ''I wouldn't fall for that one!'' People do though, and I know this sounds nasty but if you're saft enough to hand over any money for something you've never seen you deserve it.

sounds as though it's getting worse then, if they're going to those sorts of lengths to con people out of money.

Luckily you can tell straight away that it's a scam when you get the sorts of emails that Lisa got back. I notice it didn't answer ANY of the questions asked!

There are LOADS on there at the moment. American cars sem to be very popular with the scammers....

That is a £50,000 car any day of the week. Notice that the price is the same as yours...!!! There are quite a few listed under American cars, and they are all £1900. Maybe there is a limit of some sort of how much you can scam before the police become involved.... Not sure, but £1900 pops up all the time. Avoid these idiots, unless you want to send them some emails telling them want you think of them. You can also report them to Ebay, who will do some research on them and remove the ad if it is dodgy.

Yeah, you're right Sy, must be something to do with a limit for small claims procedures or something??

Also, I'd agree that it's worth as many people reporting these things as possible. Not everyone will be aware that it they could potentially loose their money here! If they turn out not to be a scam, well, I'll eat my pink cowboy hat!
