Problem with these scammers is that they ruin the credibility of others. For example, here I am sitting in South Africa, yet no one wants to post here because of other that spoil it for genuine buyers. Sad sad world. As for taking you to a garage "where the car is stored", here they point a gun at your head and tell you to get out. So count your blessings.

i appreciate the size of ebay and the relatively low % of scammers, the problem is when you do see one and ask questions and get dodgy answer you try and report to ebay, spend about 2 hours looking how to and give up. The complaints procedure is too difficult. At the end of the day if your a genuine seller if you were reported and ebay asked a few additional questions you would not be bothered. So ehy not just have a report this item button the listing where you can enter some details for ebay to chase up.

On paypal dont also forget about the money they make in interest, when you pay the money is taken instantly and put into your paypal account, it then sits here until either you spend it or claim it.

Its not all bad though, i once bought a tag watch for the wife for her birthday, £125, it arrived, set the time next morning it was 4 hours out, tried contacting seller, got no helpful response, reported to ebay and they returned £105 from the sellers paypal. The problem was if the seller had withdrawn the money instantly what would have happened then?

Like you all say somebody needs to get a grip of ebay, making the money they are they should put some back in to help the customers. Lets see if this new help line works or is it just another money making scam.
