i am wanting to pint my honda civic but i dont know much about painting, I have had a look through cooper chaz's guide but a lot of it goes over my head! but anyway...
I am wanting to paint my car jet black using 2k paint, i have rear that i should use the mix of 2:1 with 2K hardener + 10% 2K thinners. is this a suitable mixture?
Are 2K hardners also regarded as 2k activators?
When i use 2k primer and laquer do i also have to use the same mixture of 2:1 with 2K hardener + 10% 2K thinners or is primer diffrent?
I am hoping to paint my honda civic how many litres of each should i need if i used a 2:1 with 2K hardener + 10% 2K thinners ratio?
Thanks a lot for your help! Could some one please point me int he right dirrection or am i completely off track with the whole painting malarkey?
Thanks a lot, Tomm
EDIT:
Or would i be better off using cellulose paints?
I read that if i was to use cellulose paint i would have to mix it at a 1:1 ratio with cellulose thiners therfore giving me 10 litres of paint which i assume will leave a few litres for repainting?
I also read that cellulose paint do not require a laqure as they have a glossy finish. does this mean that painting with cellulose paints requires more exsperiance?
Cellulose paints also dont require hardners or activators so does this there fore make them easier or harder to use?
As a first painter what would be better for me to use? I feel that cellulose would be cheaper and come out with a overall better finish but i think that painting with cellulose will require some level o0f exsperiance?
Can any one again shead any light on this area for me?
