Hi all,
Now I have a road Mini, I am now looking at head units. Don't really know anything about them to be honest, but THIS caught my eye, and looks pretty smart.
Any opinions? Good price? And has anyone ordered from Car Audio Centre?

thats a good price
beware with Pioneers with electronic faults, the units are physically made well, but the pcb's inside are not, this is even a problem on the higher end units too
you could try kenwood for around the same price, in my past experience they are much more reliable.
are you in need of speakers too?

Yeah. Haven't really thought about speakers, although I found some Pioneer 6x9's in the garage which I will use.
Will definatly need some more speakers..

sony have a reputation for being pants when it comes down to car audio. Alpine seem to have the best quality head units next to Nakamichi! Kenwood are a sound company producing good quality components with nice style. Pioneer go more for style. In speakers they use big numbers and high prices

I agree that sony are PANTS, alpine are of good quality but arnt exactly pretty, i'v got the pioneer 7500mp, which i give a good beating with my 2 12" subs . Speaker wise, JL , Pheonix Gold or Rockford fosgate are 3 of the best makes, as they pay more attention to speakers than they do source units. as for the head unit you are looking at, its good enough to start you off, its got 2 pre-outs, so you can run a couple of amps if you wanted.

wouldnt touch sony with a fairly long stick, cheap cheap cheap quality units
i much prefere Alpine and Nakamichi, cant beat 24bit quality in a car

Definately Nakamichi, know some ICE junkies who have Nakamichi stuff worth more than their car - but tis brilliant.
I'm probably going to order one of those Pioneer head units too, almost exactly what I was looking for at the right price.

Didn't realise this thread was still going!
I got the head unit over a week ago, although I still haven't fitted it. Looks posh though!
