I'm having some difficulty driving due to my legs being too long!!! My dad told me that years back you were able to purchase brackets to attach to the subframe which allowed the seat to go back an extra 2" or so. I can't find them anywhere. Are you still able to get these? And if so, where from?
Thanks in advance.
Seat too close?

You can still get them from most mini suppliers.
Minispares (TMF discount)
Minisport (cheap anyway.)

If you feel funny steering with the seat backed up, try this as well:

Many people install the seat extenders and the steering column drop bracket as their #1 modification (I did). I highly recommend both - gives a much more comfy ride, especially for drives more than 2 hours for we taller folk.

Thanks I'll bear it in mind. I'm only 5'8" but I found it uncomfortable being so close. My boyfriend's really gonna struggle at 6'1". I don't plan on doing any 2 hours drives in the mini though -only 8000miles and I intend to keep it low too.

Why not just take a couple of spanners, remove the seat mounting bolts and move the seats back to the rearmost pegs/holes.
Their usually positioned in the middle holes from the factory and moving them back a peg will provide a fair bit more leg room up front.
Give it a try and if you then still feel that you need more room, then order the brackets.
