right, i have now sourced the items for free thanks to a very genourous friend, but i have not yet wired up and fitted.

i cant decide if this is a good idea, 3 questions before i go drilling holes:

1. is it going to affect my MOT?

2. is it really a good idea to be drilling a hole in the exhaust?

3. should i mount the plug a few inches from the exit (AFTER the back box)?

cheers all

1. No. as long as you have means of isolation (switch) and the exhaust hole seals around the plug and doesn't blow.
2. Not really but as long as you seal it up well you shouldn't get any rust which will eventually eat through it.
3.yes, after the back box but before the end (keep it under the car if you can so it can't be seen.

Edit: and be very ****ing careful when wiring it up. once the coil is live you are getting about 1.21 jigggawatts out of it and you will deffinatley ***k yourself up if you get on the wrong side of it!!!!! (make sure that the wiring is all routed right and secured (and the coil) before you turn it on)

exhaust assembly paste or gungum. Also i dont see the problem if you ever wanted to take it out you can get some really good quality bandage repair kits that work really well to seal the hole up.
