Hi people, me again with yet another problem.
My exhaust is blowing quite badly and have noticed that when I put my foot down i get a bit of hicupping in 3rd and 4th.
Are the 2 related, the engine is firing fine.
How can I determine where the air is getting in, the manifold gasket was changed a couple of weeks ago, although when I look at the gasket between the carb and the manifold there appears to be a bit of perishing.
Could this be my problem??
Thanks

Tried this, there are no obvious noises coming from under the bonnet. There is however a very strong smell of exhaust fumes???

No obvious signs of a leak. As I said it looks a bit rotten where the carb meets the manifold. I would imagine this is my best bet.
I'll pick up some firegum amd see if it helps, if it does i'll be replacing that pronto

take the spark plugs out, pour a bit of redex down each plug hole. put the plugs back in, leave it for a while. then fire it up, and put your hand over the end of the exhaust. the smoke will come out of wherever theres a leak in the exhaust system.
dont worry about the excess smoke, thats just cleaned your cylinder head and pistons out a bit!
