i've never seen/experienced them ruin cams myself, its just something i've heard, perhaps ruin was a strong word, i suppose increased wear would be a better way of putting it

Hehe no the cam doesn't disintegrate into dust, but the lobes get very visible wear which greatly decreases performance. Not very dangerous to the engine itself if you're willing to change the cam, but not very pleasant. Especially when you consider all the metal bits off the lobes are floating around in your gearbox!

yeah i know what you mean pavel

we took flappyplasticbits engine apart after a year and there wasnt much wear on the lobes at all, barely any, and thats after being driven to destruction! lol

just come back from getting the flywheel lightened, had 150thou taken off it, if you know what one looks like, 150thou off takes it down to the bottom of the casting numbers

and heres the flywheel coming out of the acid steam bath! cant wait to get this all together now, i have all the bits just gotta be assembled!

update!! heads just gone to the machine shop to be skimmed, enigne is going in tomorrow!!!

that it, shes gone in for welding and engine replacement! i could do it myself but i dont have a flip front yet nor access to an engine crane, we lifted flappyplasticbits engine out without a problem (with the whole front of the car removed) but i simply dont have the effort to do it myself

should have the car back in 2 weeks or so (theres alot that needs to be done) ill get some pics up of the new rad etc that should be arriving shortly!
