You don't want to go ULTRA light on a road car.

Well not unless you want to restart at every set of lights you come to.

Well, an ultra light is okay on a race engine with a high idle. Do a search the topics popped up a few times.

that expensive backplate is lovely, I have one! It is noticabley lighter than the standard type from qh they sell. if you have the money go for it, with a normal lightened flywheel.

the minispares flywheel comes with 3 metal spacers, which may or may not be the correct thickness. You will need to check they are the correct height, and adding washers if needed to pack it out between the horn and drive strap. Quite easy.. actually it may even come with instructions if you're lucky!!!!

How can I tell if my flywheel is lightened without having another one to compare it to? I was told it was by the guy I bough it all from but most of what he told me turned out to be lies so I am just wondering!...

dude yours can't be setup properly or something if it stalls at lights because of the flywheel....

i'm running and ultralight flywheel and backplate and mine idles perfectly at 900rpm, as does everyone else i know with one. (apart from one mate who runs a 300 degree scatter cam so his idles at 1100)

Been over this, not going over it again.

It all depends on the spec of engine.
