hi, another question i have.

would there be any benifit in putting the 1275GT gearbox i have on my mg metro engine.

is'nt it a close ratio box??

I think its more of a case of which diff is better? - I'd go with the MG rig - also doesnt A series Verses A+ come into the equation? can you use an A series gearbox with A+ drop gears / clutch assy / flywheel etc? :wub:

If you're fitting an A+ engine with Aseries gears,... you need to use the Aseries Drop and transfer gear (iirc) likewise,.. if you're fitting A+ gears to an Aseries you need to Use the A+ drop and transfer gears.

Yes the GT had a closer ratio box than other minis.

You CAN fit an A series gearbox to an A+ block, only difference being you need to use A series drops. Alternatively you can put an A series gearset into an A+ box and then run A+ drops...

Yes the GT had a slightly closer ratio to the std ratios, mainly noticable in the change from 3rd to 4th, as they are much closer together than std.
