Hi guys,
Unfortunately i'm gonna have to replace my crank as the previous owner has knackered it!
Does anyone know if I can use a 998 crank in my 1275 engine?
If not, does anyone have a spare 1275 crank for sale as i've had no look in the wanted section.
Thanks

Andy

No you can't use a 998 crank in a 1275 engine. At least.... not with considerable modification!!!

Might want to check mini sport.

They do cheap cranks if your after one now. Comes with bearings as well I believe.

But mini sport don't have the best of reps.

Minisport are okay, they're a Parts supplier so a crank shouldn't be a problem, i just wouldn't get a whole engine off them.

remember you will want to have any crank ground with new bearing, so it might just be worth going for a new one which will already be done.

£85 + surcharge + delivery for a reground crank complete with a set of bearings and thrusts from Mini Sport the last time I looked. That is an excellent price!!!!

£160 + postage for a brand spanker complete with bearings and thrusts, again from mini sport, beats MiniSpeed hands down on price http://cgi.ebay.co.u...VQQcmdZViewItem

Dont knock the machine work that Mini Sport do, their machine shop knocks out quality stuff. I have personaly spoke to the machine shop manager and he is a top bloke.

£1

Yeah I noticed mini sport do them, but I don't think they'd take mine as surcharge (its that bad) and i cant afford it with an extra 50quid on top! thats why i'm after a second hand one as cheap as possible.
Is there a difference between the A-series and A+ cranks?? they're different on the mini sport site.

thanks again

Andy

depends how bad the crank is... the only thing which will affect the surcharge in general is the condition of the tail...

Yes there are subtle differences between an A+ and A series crank, but both are the same dimensionally, and journal wise.
