not sure if this is the right section but i need to remove the rear window for tinting.
It has a chrome strip around it if that helps? Is it an easy job?

You mean the rear screen ,not the 1/4 lights?
Pull the plastichrome strip out of the seal first, then the screen should come out of the seal too. If the rubber is old and tired it is better to cut the lip of the seal away and then lift the glass out, if there's not much flex left in the rubber it can easily break the glass. You will almost always need a new seal when doing this anyway as they become almost impossible to re-use after just a couple of years in the sun.

Standard saloon? Dead easy, pull out the chrome strip and the from inside the car push firmly on the bottom corner of the screen until it pops out of the rubber. Then on the outside, ease the screen out.
Good luck putting it back in! Helps it you have a special tool when putting the chrome strip back in.

ok. its just for tinting. I cud get the 1/4 rear ones out as the rubber seemed solid and didnt want to break the glass.
I had to tint the 1/4's with the film on the outside and doesnt look too bad and minimum ripples!
Might have to take to a garage and get a proper job
