Got me a B+W ally plate made up at the show on sunday, only 1 tho as the other one i had made was a normal plate.

Got my name on it, PALMER and it looks totally ace, makes the rear of my car monochrome!
Just need to get rid of the fog lamp and it will be all good!!

I think i am going to get a set made up with my full reg on, so i can cheekily use them :cheese:

£22.50 for the pair, the other one is a slightly illegal normal one in Italic, blue boarder, and mini logo.

The pressed aluminium ones like you see there are £10..

I will not try and state the obvious but be careful with black and silver plates, as illegal on cars made after 1974.
My mate had some black and silver plates on his Rover 216 Coupe - it looked brialliant - but then he got an £80 fine
Save them for abroad use I'd say.

that looks brilliant
in the words of a certain little britain character 'i want that one'

just carry your normal plates in the car somewhere if you get pulled claim you didn't know and say you have the originals in the car and change them over on the spot.

Yeah right that'll work!

'Sorry officer I didn't know the law'

'Well son, ignorance is no defence. Here's your fine, some points for good measure and a producer. Now run along sonny or I'll call the emissions testing team.'

Why not just get your Mini's name put on a B + W plate ?
Even cooler for events and shows. We have a few members now with names on plates (but not the b & w type).

Ive got a 1995 Mini 1300i. I was thinking about buying an old "ABC123" reg plate for about £100 from plate site. If its an old reg, I suppose you could get away with having an alloy pressed black/white plate as it will look like a pre 74 car :cheese:

Yea I have gota say. The old english reg plates do look the muts nuts on a mini
I really do want one. But im more interested in geting my mini sorted out first and get rid of them tacky arches.

I wouldnt mind a smooth boot lid. Is it legal to put the reg plate on the bottom of the car (Like on the front of a mini) rather than on the boot lid?

Obviously I will wire my reg lights down to there...

Binge I like your lateral thinking. I'd get a Mk3 age plate and pass the car off as a 72 or something with it. Hmmmmmmm - gets The Roadie thinking.
Problem is my car is quite distinctive now, and i'm 17, so that means I'll get pulled over for sily driving a nicer car than the piggy will ever own, so I'd better not do that.
Uness I get a plate like "EDD238K" or "EJL456J" on it (My name or initials)
Could be fun trying to pass it off as an early 70's car before the document stage:
"Yes officer I fitted the spi motor and cat becasue I love the enviroment!"
