Want to buy a new short motor for my historic racer. Have seen many available. I am impressed by the MED clubman kit. What sort of HP can I expect with a 45dcoe and well flowed head with standard Cooper s valves. I have a set of swiftune 1:5 rockers and will want a full race cam to go with this combo. We are forced to use points ignition to stay within regulations. The motor must be pre A plus. I would love to buy an all steel motor from MED or Swiftune but I dont have the 20+ Australian clams to pay. Are there any other reputable engine builders around that do this type of stuff?
I can get all the parts I need locally and we have many very talented engineers/workshops but these kits offer excellent value for money, freight is relatively cheap and I dont have to pay VAT. My budget is around the 2000 quid mark.
