I can never understand why people try to make things harder for themselves. I remember a post not long about about a twin carb turbo... amazing. lol

"Is an intercooler nessary for a turbo ?"

No it's not, but is certainly very worthwhile fitting one.

They're dirt cheap to buy really, secondhand. Something like the series 2 RS Escort unit is ideal, they can be bought for about £10-15, are compact and effective.

i think the 998 turbo in 20 hours was pretty good but instead of spending alot of money on a mirage manifold so you dont have to weld a box in the bulkhead, could you mount the standard metro turbo manifold upside down, aswell as the turbo? will it clear the carb?

thankssss

The turbo wont fit over a carb on the standard metro manifold upside down.

Please post up the link on turbominis...

That wasn't suck through, it was blow through, he turned the manifolds up the other way, then ran a pipe off of the inlet manifold and put a throttle body on the end of that. iirc

My 'errr No' reffered to the fact that the carb wouldn't fit with the turbo mounted upsidedown.

Putting the manifold upsidedown may save you money on the exhaust manifold, but it'll cost money to make a elbow for the exhaust and an inlet. In reality you'd struggle to get a carb anywhere.

Mirage isn't cheap, but it is the best solution for an easy install.
