Whats your ultimate spec in a mini ?
My ultimate mini itself was the car rover built in 1997, they called it the hot rod - green with orange stripes!

Weeeeeeel if we're talking about keeping it A series then my ultimate spec would probably be what I've got now with split webbers and an 7 or 8 port head. If it isn't A series then either V-tec Type R engine or a bike engine, hopefully a 4wd!!!

if it was only on an a series it would be an 8 port turbo with fuel injection 3d ignition and a sequential gearbox.
if it could be anything it would probably have to be a bike engine mini

i agree with guessworks, a nice reliable but extremely fast engine would be the best to have in a mini, like the B16 vtec jobby, and a nice leather interior for comfort....
i think you can tell ive been driving around in a loud/fast/uncomfortable mini for too long...

Either a rally slagged Clubman, with the cally 2.0 16v turbo engine (not a standard one either!), or a nicely modded new MINI Cooper S, with all the gadgets and lots of power.

Yea thats what I thought when I got my mini, 130 bhp, cruising down the middle of the M25, a look of disbelief come over my face as a standard looking red mini flys by, couldn't keep up with it either! Now I'm looking at a 2L V-tec Type R engine for my Clubby, but that will be another thread soon!

Mildly tuned A series engines. Fast road/rally cam, dished pistons, supercharged. Something like 130hp and best but not last 5 speed gear box with limited slip differential. 13" wheels and coil over suspension.
