Add to that a grease gun and grease, if you don't already have one and grease up all the suspension joints (see haynes) as most people forget and assume its a modern car.

Defo worth doing the service yourself, at least if it is to do the basics, like oil, coolant check, grease nipples, fan belt tension etc etc. If you are not familiar with your car, ie, if you bought it recently, its really worth checking everything you can, so you then have a mileage/date starting point for future services.
Anyway, it's always a little frightening removing bits off your car if you've never done it before (fear of it not ever starting again!!!), but the mini is really designed to be easy to work on by the DIY er....if you can get your hands into all areas around the engine!
You will learn so much, and as said, if you do the work, you know it has been done instead of taking a garages word that they have done it.
You will save lots of money, and it will be mor eself rewarding doing it yourself.
This forum is here to helop everyone, so if you get stuck, just write a topic or do a search on how to do something.
You can always PM me if u wish, no problem.

The other thing to consider, if a newbie or reborn-miniadict (like me), is tools. I have had a string of modern cars and got rid of/lost my tools about a decade ago, so had to go out and spend a wadge of cash on new tools (Halfords pro range, brilliant!)
Have fun and report back when she is running nice and smooth.
