Peco 1.75 big bore back box on a standard mini fitted onto a standard mini exhaust system (No middle silencer)

or

Twin boxster exhaust 1.75 box, onto a link pipe (no middle silencer) LCB and manifold.

Car is a well running 998cc

Thanks

Depends what you mean by sound better? The boxster will be louder, but IMO that means it'll probably sound worse.

neither in my honest opinion. i'd go for the RC40 twin box system, more than enough for a 998cc and will not compromise performance. sounds nice too. the aim should be a nice exhaust note rather than something that makes your ears bleed and pisses off people from miles around.

thats my 2penneth worth anyway.

boxter exhaust on a 998 will sound nasty in my opinion, go for the peco one mate or get an rc40.

Pecos, from what I have seen/heard are a complete waste of money.
Boxters - they look turd

Your best bet, for performance and noise is either a cooper freeflow/lcb manifold, mated to twin or single box RC40. On all of my minis, and now my 1380, I have had the stainless single box Millennium RC40 from minispares, with the rolled tip. Sounds nice, not overkill, and looks the part too.

Peco sounds really good not too loud and yet quite sporty, would be happy if boxster sounded the same... as for looks everyone is allowed an opinion.

straight through single RC40!

that is the one you want, its what i got on my black mini,
RC40's are really good, and increase power too.

they also sound alot better than a big bore exhaust!
