Hi there i was just looking at solenoids on ebay and i was wondering do normal solenoids work for pop doors ?? if so how would i connect it up ?

You mean the £14 button push jobbies? You just need to connect them into the stock lock and make them remote then you'll have door poppers. Or get the Moss (*spits*) central locking and remote door kit.

Ohh thanks ;D im going to buy seprate solenoids because they are cheap :D where can i just get a locking kit from ? cheap :thumbsup:

Cheap, never a good thing.

Best bet would be just to check ebay. No idea what it would be called though.

I was looking at similar but for the bonnet. Don't trust the external opening. Always made me paranoid some git would do something silly like steal my HT leads.

Damn paranoia.

Central locking motors aren't solenoids, they're motors. Solenoids generate a lot more pull than a central locking motor and I doubt the motor would be up to operating the door release without complex pulleys or gears. The problem with that being that the travel limit switches in the central locking motors will also limit the amount of gearing that can be applied. That's why people use solenoids. People generally do things the way they do them for a reason.
