Ha, the impetuousness of youth ;D

You'd only be tackling problems you will have to confront at some point and very possibly avoiding them by early intervention.

Yep true. Had trouble with the front cones aswell. One of them the compressor tool wouldn't screw in so the top arm had to come out. And my o/s cv joint has just gone so that is the next job.

Well, I just recently had to do battle with 4 of the buggers!

It is perfectly possible (sometimes a little tricky) to remove the radius arms and leave the trumpets and cones in place, but you do need to remove the corner bracket which probably equals seized bolts which equals more work that you won't want to do.

I really would not have got 3 of them out without taking the radius arms off, period. In fact, even when the radius arms were off it was a considerable struggle and they left some of the rubber cone stuck to the subframe.

Good Luck!

i take it the shock absorbers off?
when its undone the radius arm swings lower, it the release the trumpet from the ball coupling on the radius arm, should then "just" have enough space to knock the trimpet out usualy along with the rubber doughnut
doh, sorry read u already done this...ah well

Update: managed to get it out finally by using the god send that is wd40. Just soaked it in that and levered with a chisel. Went to minisport yesterday and got new cones for the rear aswell so should be great.

Thanks for the help guys.

Just to let you all know I put new cones, new kyb gas-a-just shocks and hilos on the rear and I cannot believe the difference they have made! :gimme:

My advice to anyone who has 20 year old cones; replace them! :D
