Reece Fish Carb, very popular with 60's racing minis

There was one of those sold on ebay last week - went for over £185! Item number 110167651543 (ebay links never seem to work for me!)

Tuning The Classic Mini by Clive Trickey might give you some ideas - very 60's. If you are thinking about a race inspired look, a mahoosive oil cooler in the grille aperture with no grille or surround seemed popular judging by the pics in Trickey's book.

Mercedes front lights and port-hole type rear windows as per some of the Wood & Pickett Minis of the late 60's.

70's was the age of the aftermarket mods.

Things like the louvers, and spats... alloy wheels, like KN's Dunlops, Slotmags etc...

I think 60's was more restrained modification wise, but bodywork and paint got the full monty, just think of all them Minis driving around with flowers all over, and then the specials like the Radford hatch for Ringo's Drums.. and the wickerwork one...

But some nice wing mounted round mirrors were a definte must.

The Mini - the Making of a Modern Icon by Brian Laban (Collins) puts the car into context with lots of pix from ads etc.

HEALTH WARNING contains a foreword by J Clarkson and pix of Binis at the back

EDIT Also just found Complete Classic Mini by Chris Rees (MRP) More technical detail but lots of pix.
