Some woman said to her kid the other day whilst passing our car:

"Aww, look at that little mini!"

It's not a LITTLE MINI love, it's a PROPER MINI.

Also the other day, I was cut up by a small Alfa Romeo who then pulled into the lane alongside me at the next traffic lights, edging over the line. I found it hilarious when I put my foot down (only got a standard 998) and saw him in the wing mirror desperately trying to catch up!

Everyone you overtake in a mini get jealous and have to overtake you to prove a "point" that they can.

I always laff at them, big deal if your £40,000 BMW 5 series can overtake my £500 998 mini.

I feel good because i managed to overtake them anyway

I really don't understand it. People are happy trundling along on the inside lane at 70, but as soon as I go past them they feel they're squandering their life at 70mph and they have to go faster than me. I drive so many motorway miles and I see it all the time. You can tell which ones will do it too, they usually stare at you as you go past in the middle lane. What usually happens is they will cut across to the outside lane and overtake. I usually time it so as soon as they cross from inside to middle lane behind me I've already nailed it and they usually wonder how all of a sudden their little plan has fallen apart. Then of course it becomes a vendetta for them and they have to "beat" me. I usually stop accelerating at about 90, so someone who was driving along at 70mph for ages is suddenly driving at 90+ just because they got overtaken by a Mini.

It's not just my classic either, when I drive my sister's New Mini the same thing happens!! Although the terminal velocities on that are much higher and what usually happens is I don't stop accelerating and they get chicken when the speedo starts reading 3 digits :D
