the main reason for me saying this is that the wheel came off the mini thismorining, and AA said about 2 and a half hours!!
SUCKS i know, but anyways had to mini owners pass me bye and asked if i needed a hand, then within 20mins i was back on my travels.
BRILLANT
THANK YOU TO THE GUYS WHO STOPED!!

I always stop if I see a mini by the side of the road. Usually the driver knows what's wrong but I do carry tools that might help and moral support is better than nothing.
Last time I stopped
I've called the RAC out 3 times in five years and the guys have been respectful and efficient (but the probs have always been electrical).
Best way to go is with your mates, because when the fanbelt snapped they had it fixed in no time (thanks Minimadjonesey & Co). Not to mention when a metal speed bump took the entire exhaust off in Newquay and the lads spent some time at at the Riv Run campsite underneath putting it back on (thanks same guys).
Er, yes, I have done some work on my own car ... um ... water bottle topped up, June 23, 2004.

Another mate bought some fish and chips, so i sat inside the car pushing the pedel, and he stood outside with the jar etc...!!
When i have broken down at other times, I have always had mini people stop, its great. It doesnt just stop at minis tho, If i see any nice old car stopped i go have a nose, even if you cant help, you still get to say hi, offer moral support!
I once got a "Tesco Values Award" as after work i helped two minis stopped in the car park, one with hazards on. He had blown a fuse, so lost lights, and he had no spare fuses. So we bodged up blade fuse connecter and fuse (and spares) to get him home. He wrote to the store manager to thank me!
My friend has a thing for old VW's, and he Drives a modern VW Transporter Van, not the same i know, but he always stops to give a hand where he can, be it a broken beetle, or a clapped out camper - and seeing as he has a van its always full of tools and hes a spark, so electrical eqipment too, he can fix alot!

Well, I've waited by the side of the road after an accident (my fault) and watched scores of minis go past on their way to a track day and lots waved but nobody stopped.

Last time I stoppedafter running out of petrolwith a sophisticated fuel-flow problem the only car that stopped was a bini whose driver offered the use of a mobile phone. Without smirking. I was impressed. But of course I declined.

Lol! you're welcome Teapot! Got to the point that I was working on Huey more than I was on our own ones! The accident was a shame, especially as it was mrsminimadjonesy that was the other party. We would have Stayed with you but you insisted we went on! Pity no one else stopped to check with you though!
As for your Fanbelt, hope you learnt your lesson and you now keep a spare!! lol!! Your exhaust was hillarious, sounded like you had a V8 in the mini, was brilliant!
As for working on your own car, You helped me fit the new Gaz Shocks and you did a very good job too!

luckily it was on the way home from mini in the park and a group of mini owners from another club helped me out with mr RAC's tools
last time i broke down in the camper mr AA asked if the water on the road had come out of my engine (old VW's are air cooled)
