I converted my N/A 1293 into a 1293 turbo for around £600. With some selective buying im sure you could do it for less.

Why are you against turbo's and chargers?

There is threads on whats needed for forced induction on this site and plenty on TM.

Purple Tom had a Morspeed 1293. Decent pistons, balanced bottom end, Morspeed cam and worked head, can't remember what carbs or rockers he was using but he hit the magical 100bhp figure.

im a noob, but my orig plan was to get my mits on a bigger engine, get it bored out to a 1380, and go from there to try and hit 100bhp. This seem like a good idea to anyome? and yes i order my copy of tuning the a series yesterday, lol

I would just like to tune and change parts rather than add a turbo, i am up for convincing otherwise but for now i would just like the magic 100 from other methods.

All god stuff though, nice to see someone who has the same ideas as me Bowers.

Cheers, Rhys

there's nothing magic about 100...

Your best option is to buy decent 2nd hand parts cheap !

And needed rebuilding after 6k!

Well there are a few ideas here that you could look at, and cost it up yourself, it will be a lot harder with a 998 though!

This is an example of price..

Its difficult to put a price on things because it all depends if you want to buy new/used and how much work you are willing/capable of doing yourself!

If your willing to search for parts, you can get some bargains.

Yeah i have had a look at those engines im more looking at the 74bhp Mg Metro engine as a base!

I really think there is bargains out there but im the most impatient person in the world and struggle to wait for them!

Cheers for the links,

Rhys
