i've bene in my job for just over 6 months & i've got my 6months probation meeting this week.
i've never done sales before & i'm finding it quite difficult, plus the product is not the easiest to sell!

sometimes i'll be having a conversation with my collegues & they'll ignore me ( no sure if this is accidently or purposely) & i don't really feel part of the team.

i thought there would be more design based work within the role, but its full sales work. if i had known this i may not have accepted the job.

i've been working on the paper on my own for 4 months, and there's another member of staff arriving next week, to help take the strain off. maybe it's the pressure of getting the figures up on my own that's getting me down, but maybe not.

anyone got any tips / ideas to what i should do?

sorry for the rant.
RANT OVER :)

ahh right i got ya...

you will always have good days and bad days..

if you have a decent boss he will understand that its a hard sell and wont be on your back about it.
sometimes its an idea to ask someone else whos good at it or it used to be their old job to do it while you listen and you can pickup little tips.

Thats how i managed to actually sell anything.

selling is a hard job... fall stop period!

selling is a very difficult job, every sales person has good and bad days/weeks/months. all sales people get down due to the lack of sales. its expected.

keep your chin up, look for something else you will enjoy, but dont leave this job until you are just about to start the new job.

just think....it cant get any worse

Considering we spend a whole load of time working, you need to enjoy your job, because it will take over your life.

If you enjoy your job you will succeed, and prgress, if you don't, your end up regretting things, getting stressed, depressed and angry. Then before you know it your be taking your work issues home and it will start affecting the person you are especially with friends and family etc, you might not notice to start of with, and even if someone mention it to you, you still won't believe them.

The trick is to find the job you love, and want to do, yeah you will still have good and bad days, but as long as at the end of each week you still feel happy about the job thats all that matters.

I did a job I hated/well hated the company for years, and got very depressed over it, sometimes you have to take a step back and have a really long hard think about the situation and what you want to do.

For me office work got me down, so I gave up the highly paid job and became a white van man lol

I know exactly how you feel. I did my fair share of job to pay for my school and newspaper sales [read:spaces in] was one of them. I must say I hated it.
I started looking for something else to do and meanwhile found a way to have fun on your time left. I found a way to scam the business, actually worked part-time and billed them full time. I was fun having extra income and not doing my job. lol

Oh good 'ol school days...

Find something better and quit your current one.

Start looking, Sheree, but make sure you jump into something you want to do rather than the first one the comes up as an escape route.
Think about what it is that you really enjoy and see if you can find a job that exploits that.
Good luck, Girlie!! I'm in the same position!!!
