a little burnt with butter tastes really nice IMO, for some reason it makes tea taste better too lol

mmmm... burned skin with butter!? Yeah, I've been there too - read my post above.
No clue what your tea comment is about though.. :withstupid:

Why is there always a setting on every toaster that burns a pace of bread to a crisp in seconds?

Or is it just my toaster that I have to play Russian roulette with?
Low setting: pops up, not done enough, back down for a second time and pops up burnt to a crisp.
Medium setting: same again, slightly better but still not proper toast, second try, cremated again.

So every time i want some decent toast I have to put it in for one full turn on the low setting and then again for a second time but, turn off the toaster so it pops up just before its cremated, depending upon how awake I am depends upon the crispness of the toast i get. :)

The problem here is that not enough people take toast seriously enough...

You need to invest in a good toaster, if it's less than £50, then you obviously don't love toast enough.

what the hell am I talking about?! My wife works for debenhams so we got a 70 quid toaster for about £25 in the sale, and it's still cr@p!

mmm I like white toast with a bit of marg on and then a huge helping of nutty peanut butter - what i normally do is put the jar of peanut butter on the top of the toaster so the jar heats up & makes the peanut butter go all gooey and then when the toasts popped, its ready to 'slap on'

No toaster. Under the grill, so you have to watch it & always achieve the perfect finish.
Thick sliced homemade bread - wholemeal with seedy bits.
Butter. NEVER marg/spreadybollocks.
Marmite. Thickly spread so it strips the roof of your mouth.
