Cheers. Seating position isnt exactly ideal... being a touch close to the cage.  I'm lucky enought o be able to move the seat slightly inboard (hence the cut out in the tunnel) and I just moved the steering column accordingly.

I'm not sure if I like the splitter is all. Trying to make a mini aerodynamic is like trying to get a midget to play basketball.

Parts list is getting compiled too.

Got the headlamps fitted and grille in place.

Got a bit done to it, not using a standard release nor centre badge, I had it welded up... Bit of drill, filing out to make it match the rest of the grille. also had the grill ends welded to the centre. Not perfect really, but still a bit of flatting and painting to do

Rear lamps, finishes things a bit better.

Subtle this car will not be! but yeah, small details... and to be honest... I was just sat in the garden with a needle file, music in my ears and file out the holes to the correct shape.

Not so bad.

Nice rods!

You going to be able to get the CR low enough with those pistons?

Need a nice 28.5cc turb phil head? lol

Are you going with a Fusion side mount manifold?

haha yes, I should be fine

I already have a 28.5cc head. I need roughly 14cc to drop down to 8.5:1 if i remember my calcs correctly.

So I believe, using an un-decked block should allow me to run the pistons down the bore some amount to gain cc's above the piston crown. If necessary I'll get Southam to open the disk an amount. Also been pointed at Cometic gaskets, thicker compressed volume might negate the need for machining the crown- I dont really want to go thinning the crown any amount if I can help it.

That's the idea... just having a little save up again after my recent purchases.

By my calcs with a 28.5cc head you only need to find 10cc in the piston/deck area. That's using 3.8 for the gasket and 0.7 ringland. Should be easily doable.

I need to flog my head as I only need 19cc chambers now.

I'm sure 14cc rings a bell for me, I don't have my note book at the moment... I'll of course double check and sort it out though.

The other option was the 18cc's and skim the crown down to get the correct amount and then deck the block to allow the pistons flush. Decided against it as I didnt want to risk a weak ring land.

Like wise with you, I was a bit limited on choice having already got a head in my possession, Didnt really think about selling and buying new, but my combo should work fine as long as its all done correctly.
