Maybe a stone chip, which got worse? But on both?

Who knows?

Sod's law dictates that Reggie's my only car at the moment, too

Anyway

Reggie's doing really well in this cold weather - Hasn't skipped a beat! And goes where other cars seem to struggle!

The only thing is that he's too low

He catches on all of the snow in between the tyre lines on the road, lol

Reggie's been running brilliantly and, rather oddly, his idle speed and emissions have dropped since removing his temperature sensor.. The sensor, I think, is faulty - So was reading as cold. Which meant that the ECU was keeping the 'choke' on. Not good! So we've removed the sensor, but we're actually going to move it to the head (Where the old heater take-off would have been)
So, how did he repay me for buying him some new headlights?
His layshaft went!

The gearbox was checked over fully before being put in to the car, so I have no doubt that it was fine when it went on. The building and fitting was perfect, so I guess it's just one of those things! (Well, it is Reggie, afterall!!)
The noise appeared one morning and by the time I left work, the journey home was horrendous! The noise was so bad ... but as soon as he was in 4th, it was OK...! I managed to drag him back to my mum and dad's and that's where he sat for a little bit!
So ... E_E and K have been raaaaather wonderful (again!) and have spent a few days this week taking Reggie's engine back out, splitting the gearbox, putting a replacement on, (including swapping my diff again), putting it back in and connecting it all back up again!
And ...
He didn't start!!

Found the culprit though - For some reason, a wire as snapped on the cam sensor? Must have been a weak joint or something! So, we've managed to sort something out temporarily, 'til we find another plug.
Once we'd done that - He started!!!!

Took him for a little drive up our farm lane and he seems OK! He's got a couple of little issues which need sorting. (He needs a new speedo cable ... the one that's on him at the moment is a bit chewed!) His idle is still a little high, but I don't think it's anything to worry about - Nothing that a good sort through his pipes, hoses and air filter won't sort out.
Will be nice to have him back and ready for summer!

(However, I have a feeling that this will be his last one - he needs a little TLC on his bodywork, but I'm not sure how far to take it. We'll see! I'll see where we are when MOT time comes around, in september!)

Hey Joe - You're far too kind. Thank you so much!

I can't take all the credit - I would be a fraud! I had a very good base to start from and just built on that.
Reggie and I have been through our ups and downs together, but I'm still smitten

Hi Bean, stunning motor, a quick question though if you dont mind, do you know the name and code for that paint! Its great.

Hey you

Reggie is Rover Champaign Beige - Not sure of the paint code ... the bodyshop stole my tin with the code on it!

And the van ... ?
I'm not tellin'

I appreciate the compliments on the colours and don't worry - I don't think you're stalking (much!)

Yeah, 69 pages is alot, lol - But then, we've been together 3 years this year!!

I'm not tellin'Nah, seriously - I'll tell later on, but until the van's ready, I really don't want the colour getting too common and too popular ... would be gutting for me!
