Is that an overcill i spy Al?

Hey Pickup 76, there is nothing wrong with using an overcill if it is done properley.... ie. All rust cut out and cleaned up underneath sill. I did it properley and before fitting the sill i zinc weld thru primed underneath to keep it all protected.

I'm leaving for Tjiuana Mexico on the 24th of March (2 weeks) to build houses on a mission trip. when i get back (April 4th) it will be about 3 weeks and then I will be ready to prime and paint the top side. (Hemi Orange with a black roof and black bonnet stripes) I would like to have th ecar ready by June 18th (Al British Field Meet day) but I have my doubts. Probally mid to end of July to be honest.

Well What do you all think. :fear:

yeh i didnt think you would have bodged it up Al* but i just wondered why you decided to go with sealed cills over the normal vented type. Im my exerience sealed cills rust out double time but then again my car was already well rusty.

that is brilliant rusty well done, you must be really chuffed at how far you have come with this mini

Makes our restoring attempts look nothing compared to what youve done

Just out of curiosity what panels were actually saved when you started this?

cool, I love most Mopars especially the 2 door b-bodies. But they are unaffordable. They are the nicest of the american muscle cars though and have the most potential.

But I'll always love the Mini and various other british cars.

Well guys 2 mornings ago I got up early and layed the first coat of primer that Rusty is to recieve.... I used a Ep (epoxy) Primer to ensure that rust doesn't appear.... I gave it only one good coat of this and now this week I'll give it 4 coats of regular grey primer, which about 1.5-2 of will be blocked off.
-So the agenda for the next 2 weeks is to give the EP a quick sanding, seam seal where necesary, spray Rusty in the grey primer, block the grey primer down to achieve a smooth finish, spray the rubberised coating into the boot and inside of the floor for even more rust protection, spray the interior of the car in final color (hemi orange)..... If there are no major setbacks Rusty will be coming to work with me for the may long weekend where I'll spray the roof, boot lid, and bonnet old english white, and the shell and doors hemi orange... I can't wait

I'll post a couple pics of Rusty in Ep when I get them uploaded.... looks amazing seeing the car in one solid color.... for the first time. It actually looks kinda cool because the Ep is a pale green.

Well thats all for now, just thought I'd share as I'm extremely happy right now.
