Turkey etc for main event... check. Thing is I'm in a house of Christmas Pudding Haters and I really can't face a cobbled-together Prawn & Avocado cocktail from Mum for starters. So I have gaps in the menu.
I can cook pretty damned well... so any ideas would be welcome as to how to complete the menu if you guys can help out please? There's one catch though, no strawberries and no cheese. Dad's allergic to 'em.
Floor's open. Any reasonable ideas welcomed.

If you're having full-on turkey etc, you need light starte. I know it's a cliche, but how about melon & ginger? Or avocado & prawns?
Pud-pud - sticky-toffee pudding & custard?
I fink I've decided on baked cheese for starters, Veggie-Haggis-Wellington-with-Stilton & roasty veg for mains, and No-bloody-idea for pudding..........

No avocado and prawns We have it every year and I'm sick to death of it Melon's out too as Mum can't stand the stuff unfortunately. There's always one, isn't there?
This is why I'm having difficulty... Was thinking of Blackforest Gateaux...Dad doesn't like it. Trifle? Nope, Dad doesn't like that either...Now, Profiteroles have potential though. Hmmm...
Oh and Christmas Pudding is EVIL! X_X

Pate & toast?
Soup with a warm crusty bread roll?
Garlic mushrooms to be extra stinky!
'Baked in the box' camembert with cranberry jelly?
Smoked salmon?
Pudding? There's soooo much choice!
Treacle tart
Mousse
Sponge puddings of various flavours?
Ice cream
I work in a pub so it's just starting to get full of fussy Christmas eaters, that want ketchup with their smoked salmon!
Hope you're inspired soon!

One medium sized Bramley per person, cored & scored round the middle
Fill each with mixture of g/syrup, brown sugar & sultanas (chopped dates too if you like, sprinkle of ground cloves, cinnamon to taste)
K-nob of butter on top of each
Pack together together in a pan for about 45 mins on 180C or until flesh is fluffy
