if you're feeling adventurous you could perhaps make (or buy) some:-
foie gras pate served with lightly toasted baguette and served with a little red onion chutney.
A classic anti pasti of cold meats served with rosemary ciabatta.
tian of crab and smoked haddock with roasted red peppars and caviar.
Pan fried tiger prawns with lime, garlic, ginger and panchetta served with stri fry veg.
deserts:-
baked alaska
poached pear with raspberry coulis and hazlenut sprinkles
chocolate fudge brownies never fail
Banoffie pie
apple or blackberry crumble
chocolate and guinness mouse
hope this helps

Hmmm Crab would probably go down well as a starter... Would just have to leave the caviar alone.

would you like to cook my christmas dinner?
In all fairness if i had the time and you had the money then i probably would but the only days i have off over the holidays i spend led on my garage floor playin with my mini, lol. Gettin up at 6 to cook the turkey and beef means i can get a couple of hours in the garage before everyone else wakes up,lol. good times. Once the mini is done i may arrange a few mini owner dinner parties for a laugh. t

Instead of caviar just a little bit of salad on top with a few swirls of reduced balsamic dressing round the outside, little bit of salt and peppar and you're done.

I've just sort of accidentally made this bread from pizza dough in the bread machine -- same as making a pizza but leave off the topping, and it only takes 15 mins in the oven and rises a treat. It makes a great starter with warm olive oil, maybe sun-dried tomatoes and pesto sauce. And olives.
