Right then will be time shortly for my respray but i dont know what colour well shall i say shade of colour i want all i know is i want it red..
what you guys think? Metallic or Matte or anything within reason just as long as its red.. (not fussy like)
i was thinking something like the Ferrari Rosso red.
Any other idea's or pictures to sway me?

If you want a proper red thats not orangey or pinky, Id suggest ford radiant red!
Or theres a Lotus red which is the same as a Vauxhall red (cant remember the name off the top of my head) Which is a very bright red.
Also Tartan red, quite a few variations of it, bit darker and more classic looking.
Go to a paint shop and look in some of their colour chip books, but theyre will be thousands to pick from!
Im not a fan of metallics on old cars but each to their own!

VW has a nice red (modern golfs etc) colour code LP3G
if you can get hold of Sikkens paint they have a formula for a variant called "Cleaner shade" this is available as an acrylic or a waterborne basecoat
personally i have seen many a mini painted in different reds than originally availabe and some how they don't seem to look right.
An idea for you to consider is a special effect over the top i.e. a light dust coat of gold pearl, this would still keep the appearance of the red but shimmer in the sun.

didnt think about that red.. that is really nice on the golfs
the mini at the moment as far as im aware is tartan red
